freccia d'oro (1935)

on the luxury rapid called 'freccia d'oro' rise some criminals intent on seizing the precious objects that a jeweler brings. the criminals, after isolating the alarm signals and tied up and gagged the train's personnel, lock themselves in the valet carriage by cutting off every access road with the remaining cars and begin to break into the armored depot. but the unexpected is just around the corner: a bridge collapses, the nearest radio station warns the convoy, while the terrified passengers try with every means to stop the train whose train driver, unaware of everything, continues to drive in his crazy race. but suddenly he stops the convoy because in the wet night he saw a large cross appear in front of the locomotive. the fact is explained when the train is stopped: it was the shadow cast by the cross of a rosary that the machinist's mother had given to his son and that, accidentally fallen on a light, created the phenomenon in the fog. the criminals are discovered and arrested, the personnel freed and the travelers, save, congratulate each other.
