Kean: Genius or Scoundrel (1957)

a brilliant actor, but also a spendthrift of his possessions and don juan, edmund kean draws his life between women and debauchery. falling in love with anna damby, he wants her with him on stage, but the girl, who is not an actress, is likely to scupper the show. kean, with his art, manages to distract the public with a rousing monologue, but is accused of having offended the prince of wales. he will get away with it and a popular subscription will also allow him to pay his debts.
