take the lead (2006)

inspired by the true story of pierre dulaine, a manhattan dancer who dedicated himself to teaching dance to a diverse group of high school kids who had problems with justice. students are initially very skeptical of dulaine, especially when they learn that man intends to teach them to dance; gradually, however, they are infected by pierre's enthusiasm and commitment and even go beyond all expectations, mixing dulaine's classic style with the most modern hip-hop trends, managing to create a very energizing and unique genre. dulaine becomes a sort of guide for these kids who often haven't had great examples to inspire themselves in their lives, and encourages them to take part in a prestigious new york dance competition, to show everyone and especially themselves what they have learned. for their part, the students will give dulaine precious moral lessons in which important values ??emerge such as pride, respect and honor.
