Harem suare (1999)

in the early twentieth century, on the eve of the collapse of the ottoman empire, in the harem of sultan abdulhamit ii, a girl of italian origin, safiyè, made an alliance agreement with nadir, a young eunuch, to gain power. in love with each other, they succeed: safiyè becomes the favorite and gives birth to a child, but in a short time the world they knew collapses. the child dies poisoned, the harem is closed and safiyè returns to italy. now an old woman she meets anita: it is to her that she tells her story of the last odalisque.
