in order to forget an impossible love for hardy, laurel decides to enlist with his friend in the foreign legion. thanks to a barrel full of nails they will save the fort and their companions from the terrible bedouins, with the final discovery that even these, like all legionaries, find themselves in the desert to forget the same girl loved by hardy.
