a well-known singer has set as a condition for the renewal of her contract with the scala theater that a new work of her boyfriend, a young composer at the beginning of her career, is represented. a sudden illness, however, prevents the soprano from continuing his career and this causes the entrepreneurs' lack of interest in the new work, despite having been praised by arrigo boito. fortunately, the diagnosis of the evil proves to be incorrect and the singer succeeds in bringing the work of her boyfriend to the stage, achieving a resounding success.
