a young man falls in love with the wife of his closest friend and, to avoid any unpleasant consequences, leaves for a long journey. when, after several years, he returns calmed, it is the wife of his friend who confesses to him that he loves him. after a series of misunderstandings, among which the husband who begins to harbor some suspicion, the two recognize the impossibility of their love and they all make peace in the sign of true friendship.
