Avanti! (1972)

wendell ambruster jr, a busy and neurotic industrialist arrives in ischia to bring back to america the body of his father who died in an accident. in the island he meets pamela piggott, a romantic londoner, who in turn came to bury her mother, who died with wendell senior, with whom she had a secret relationship for ten years. pamela wants to bury them in ischia where they met every year, but the bureaucratic slowness, the intrigues and the small blackmail of the islanders exasperate wendell. one evening, after many fights, he realizes he is attracted to pamela and the two find themselves in the same situation as their parents. the two bodies will rest together; wendell returns to america, but will have an appointment every year in ischia with pamela.
