the industrialist rosani suffers an unexpected financial meltdown that destroys his assets. only he and his daughter nennele react by trying to rebuild their lives, while his wife and son look for all the tricks to continue living with the well-being of before. with the valid help of a cousin, the family is slowly settling down, but his wife and son leave the house. depressed, nennele tries to kill herself by throwing herself into the river, but is saved by her father in time. the cousin, in love with her, returns in a hurry and declares his love for her, thus bringing some light back into the family.
