Così ridevano (1998)

history, from 1958 to 1964, of two sicilian brothers who immigrated to turin. giovanni, the elder, wants pietro, the youngest, to graduate and become a primary school teacher. only in this way will he feel that he has redeemed himself from his illiterate state and will be able to see his only dream come true: that the beloved pietro can have access to the 'treasures' enclosed in the pages of the books. this is why john annuls himself and agrees to do all the work, even the most strenuous, in order to be able to pay for his studies to peter.
