don pasquale (1940)

the old and avaricious don pasquale, to put a stop to his grandson's expenses, decides to get him married, but the young man refuses indignantly because he secretly loves a beautiful actress. the uncle then, in order to disinherit him, is willing to marry himself and has a young girl who has just left the boarding school presented to her. but this is none other than the actress, who manages to deceive the old man who, by signing a wedding contract, gives all his possessions to the future wife who, of course, gives herself to mad joy. after some time the old man is made aware of the deception and without delay gives his consent to the marriage between his nephew and the actress.
