totò nella fossa dei leoni (due cuori tra le belve) (1943)

the daughter of a famous scientist who died in africa decides to participate in an expedition in order to be able to find her father. in the departing ship totò embarks illegally, in love with the girl, who foils the plots of the expedition organizer, who intends to take possession of the enormous wealth left by the scientist to his daughter. the lover runs other serious dangers because he ends up in the middle of a tribe of cannibals, but astutely manages to get by; the girl finds her father who in all those years had lived with the natives, convinces him to return to italy and joins his intrepid savior, in love and grateful.
