unjustly sentenced to thirty years for an unlawful crime, mario mancini is found innocent after nine long years in prison. in the meantime he remained blind and his wife valeria abandoned him. falling in love with a singer, mario is about to marry her, but his ex-wife, believed dead by him, comes back to life. she, having ended up in a group of criminals, would like to return with her husband and son, but it is too late. in a firefight she is killed and, before dying, she has time to give her eyes to her husband who, having regained his sight, will eventually marry the singer.
