duetto vagabondo (1938)

two rather clumsy private investigators are hired by a rich widow to carry out some investigations on a suitor at the hands of her aunt who lives in a luxurious country villa. the two let themselves be accommodated in the villa and for a lucky case they discover that the man, at night, tries to frighten the rich lady with ghostly apparitions, with the express purpose of devaluing the lady's property and being able to then buy it below cost. the two partners, in the eyes of women, become heroes and it is then that they eventually put the two rich men in their hands.
