the rich industrialist carlo bacchi, once dead, finds the door of paradise blocked because of his unedifying earthly life and for a wrong done to a certain amedeo santini. once he has the chance to repair his mistake within twelve hours, carlo bacchi returns to earth. once the person whom he led to despair is known, the industrialist tries in every way to make amends, but fails, while helping to solve a delicate family situation. back in the sky, certain that he had not obtained divine forgiveness, carlo discovered instead that his half-day on earth, finally lived without selfishness, was enough for his rehabilitation.
