he, she and the other working in her husband's yard. the latter persistently courts the woman who ends up giving in. the passion for love is such that the two decide to escape, but are forced, due to a mishap, to stay overnight in a hotel in the city. the squalor of the place brings to mind the woman who decides to return to her husband: she does so, but forgets her faith on the bedside table. in that room a man commits suicide and the newspapers give great prominence to the news. the husband discovers everything and runs to the hotel where he meets his wife who rushed to retrieve the ring and kills her.
