guess who (2005)

percy jones boasts that he is always right, especially with regards to the well-being of his family. when his daughter theresa brings her new boyfriend, simon green, home to present him to her father and her mother, marilyn, percy doesn't know that simon has already asked theresa to marry him and that he intends to announce their engagement to the girl's parents. as for percy, though, no one will ever live up to his 'baby', so check simon to make sure there are no unpleasant surprises. result? the young man, a successful stockbroker, appears to have all the credentials in place on paper. so, for the first time in his life, percy is even eager to meet one of his daughter's boys. it is a pity that the young man who had imagined himself is very different from the one who appears in his house: theresa's boy is, undeniably, a .. white. once recovered from the shock, percy begins to question simon about his family history, about his studies, career and favorite sports. under pressure to impress his potential father-in-law, simon has a (non-existent) past as an automotive racer, but that only gets the effect of making percy even more suspicious. any attempt to make a good impression is useless. percy makes them vain one after the other - with results from the irresistible comedy - and decides that his mission will be to unmask him, so as to disrupt his daughter's engagement.
