the engineer colombo, unhappily married to margherita, a fast-food career woman, is sent by his boss abroad for a useless mission, an antechamber of dismissal. arriving in melancias, brazil, columbus discovers that the country, surrounded by the desert and characterized by a babel of languages, is populated only by women, except for cri cri, an old playboy on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
