i due misantropi (1937)

the two bertelet cousins ??have sworn hatred to the world and live holed up in their home: one obsessed by order and clocks, the other unkempt and apathetic, following a burning sentimental disappointment. but their tranquility is compromised due to the arrival in the house of a lively girl who wants to escape the constraints of a tyrant guardian who does not look favorably on the girl's passion for variety theater. add to this the girlfriend of one of the two misanthropes, with the shrewish mother who, seeing the girl at home from a window, demand explanations about this presence. confusion, scuffles, misunderstandings and a hypothetical infectious disease create accidents and tangle the situation. finally things turn out better, with a double marriage and the radical change of the two surly individuals.
