i grandi magazzini (1939)

a saleswoman of a milanese department store to go to the mountains with her boyfriend, also employed by the company as a driver, appropriates a ski suit, with the intention of returning it the next day. unfortunately she is discovered and also subjected to blackmail by the chief of staff, who would like to pretend to protect her and make her his lover. the girl is about to be fired, but the boyfriend, by investigating on his own, discovers other shortages in the company, all due to the shady head of staff who ran his own criminal association. the girl will be acquitted of every accusation and the two young people will be able to marry.
