the daughter of a former opera singer is courted by a young venetian bourgeoisie, but the girl, while loving him, does not feel at ease in the young man's environment. one day the boy discovers that she has a beautiful soprano voice and asks her to sing on the radio during the commemorations related to the venice carnival. at the time of singing the girl is panicked, but everything is resolved in the best way because the mother will sing in her place.
