preston is a good guy who lives in tacoma, washington. he goes into crisis when he finds out that his wife emily, who loves him, betrays him. shocked and angry, he wanders the streets of the city. returning after spending several hours around, he discovers that emily has been brutally murdered. he then goes to the home of jonathan, his wife's lover, for clarification. upon entering the house he has a violent collision with a stranger and, thinking he has killed jonathan, he flees in terror. when jonathan goes looking for him, preston realizes the terrible mistake.
