incanto di mezzanotte (1940)

a fallen nobleman gives a film company permission to shoot a movie in his own castle that evokes a love story of his ancestors. these are two spouses who, separated in life by the unhealthy jealousy of man, meet like ghosts every night in the halls of the castle to continue their discussions, hoping to find some proof that can reconcile them. following the confusion caused by the filming and by all the technicians, the two spectra finally trace the famous document that irrefutably demonstrates the innocence of the woman, who was wrongly suspected. while the filmmakers, at the appearance of the ghosts, flee frightened to death, the two, reconciled, finally leave together in peace.
