tonino left the seminary temporarily to meditate on his vocation. the uncle, don salvatore, is an old satyr who wants at all costs to bring him closer to the pleasures of the flesh. first he gives the job to a prostitute, but the plan fails. then, now on his deathbed, he tears away from carmela, tonino's sensual stepmother, the promise of his intervention and this time the plan will not fail.
