deformed since birth, johnny handsome is a thug of brilliant intelligence. unfortunately for him he is involved in a robbery in the company of a couple of fools who make a massacre and wound him. locked in jail, followed by lieutenant drones, johnny thinks only of revenge. one day dr. resher offers him a miraculous exchange: he will make the connotations again and he will make it free again. johnny accepts, works and falls in love with a good girl, but the sense of duty and revenge loom.
