kundun (1997)

tibet 1937: a two-year-old boy, tenzin gyatso, from a modest peasant family, is recognized as the fourteenth reincarnation of the dalai lama. from that moment his destiny is marked: in fact he will be the spiritual guide of his people. an extremely difficult task given the tormented historical period that tibet must face: in fact mao tse tung's invasion of china in 1950 will force him into a painful exile, only twenty-four years old.
