augusto, who has problems finding work, joins a small group of petty thieves who suggest the possibility of a "blow". they succeed in the enterprise (a simple pickpocketing) that yields them one hundred thousand lire. recognized by the robbed they decide to return the stolen goods, but having already spent all the money, they are forced to find others. after having tried unsuccessfully with other scams, they decide that the only way to find the sum is to get to work.
