l'impiegato (1960)

an employee lives a modest and rather flat existence with considerable family problems, including that of a spinster sister whom he hopes to be able to marry some of his office colleagues. his only evasions are the nocturnal dreams in which he lives alongside a fascinating woman. his frustrations increase with the arrival of a diligent manager who wants to apply new american marketing systems to the office. she, after several attempts, will desist from the assignment and the modest employee will take refuge, as always, in dreams to escape reality.
