a young man of few resources, to go along with his girlfriend who wants to live in luxury, agrees with a rich friend to simulate a kidnapping. during self-segregation the latter receives a visit from his friend's girlfriend who seduces him: when the betrayed discovers the affair, he kills him. pocketed the ransom, however, the two, now together again, believe they can enjoy life, but the hand of justice reaches them quickly.
