l'invasore (1943)

in the eighteenth century the kingdom of sardinia was attacked by austrian troops and the castle of valfreda was occupied by invading troops. an officer, of french origin, courts insistently the lady of the castle, but she keeps her distance; the noble husband of the young woman in the meantime receives the order to blow up a bridge near the castle, but is discovered and miraculously saved by hiding in the rooms of her wife. stunned the officer who courts the lady of the castle and disguised herself with her clothes, manages to escape and blow up the bridge. finally the invaders are driven out and in the final duel between the count and the officer, the former has the upper hand.
