the former maid of a wealthy provincial family returns to her country after becoming a known star of the variety and, with flattery, takes her boyfriend away to a girl of noble extraction. she does not resign herself to the setback and goes in search of the two, accompanied by her own waiter who had been, long ago, the love of the former servant. after a series of mishaps and misunderstandings, the waiter will have his donut opened and the noble girl his promised young man.
