in a hypothetical future in which bossi's northern league has affirmed its policy, italy is divided by secession. gennaro strummolo, who like other southerners was imprisoned in special po valley reserves, aims to become a citizen of the north and forces his cohabitant to follow the difficult admission test in padania, while thinking of changing his surname into the more teutonic strumm. the situation becomes more complicated when the northern social worker olga, to whom the strummolos are entrusted, falls in love with ciro, the owner of the house.
