in a large hotel in new york, an intelligent and enterprising manicure is approached by a representative of agricultural machinery who offers her a better future and generous earnings if she manages to get some tractors purchased by a wealthy landlord from the hotel. the woman, attracted by the prospect of strong earnings, attracts the country that is in the company of her younger brother and manages to close the deal but falls in love with the young man, also attracted by the young brunette. the two marry, they go to live in the country, where, however, it is not welcomed by their father-in-law who sees in the daughter-in-law an unscrupulous adventurer. the old man humiliates her, despises her and doesn't want her at home, creating a situation of uneasiness for the woman and constant quarrels between the two brothers. the old man, in order to bring peace back to his home, offers money to the woman so she can go. she accepts causing a strong argument between father and son and between brother and brother that culminates with a falling from the stairs of the desperate young husband who is injured. as soon as she becomes aware of what has happened, the woman returns and goes to the bedside of the injured, facing relatives, giving back the money and dedicating herself to treating the sick. his gesture convinces the old parent of woman's honesty.
