while her mother mary is an irrepressible chatterbox, her daughter has stopped talking since her father died. nicknamed 'little voice', she actually has a beautiful voice that she uses only to sing, imitating marilyn monroe, judy garland and marlene dietrich perfectly. one day, by chance, he hears her sing ray say, a ramshackle talent scout who realizes that he is facing an authentic revelation.
