man on fire (2004)

the story starts with a wave of kidnappings that spreads to mexico city, which feeds the growing sense of panic among the richest citizens, especially parents. in fact, in one week there were 24 abductions, which led many to hire bodyguards for their children. in this world enters john creasy, a former ex-collaborator / executor of the cia now irretrievable. creasy's friend rayburn convinces him to be a body-guard for a nine-year-old girl, pita ramos, the daughter of an industrialist, samuel and his wife lisa. creasy is not extremely interested in being a bodyguard, especially a very young one, but due to lack of other things to do, he is forced to accept the job. at first he barely endures the precocious girl and her pestiferous questions: slowly, however, she manages to break through her seemingly impenetrable exteriority, into her defense armor, and make him unbutton. but creasy's new life falls apart when pita is kidnapped. despite being seriously injured during the action, creasy is in the throes of 'fire of revenge' and decides to kill anyone involved or took advantage of the kidnapping. and nobody will be able to stop it.
