every friday, attached to the dignity now exhausted of his good suit, the colonel goes to wait for the letter that finally announces the arrival of a pension promised for many years and never paid. everybody knows that he will never receive it, all the inhabitants of the village and his emaciated wife, who continues to wonder what he can find to put on the table.
