practical magic (1998)

raised by their aunts after their parents died, sisters sally and gillian owens have been practicing magic since they were children. but witchcraft comes at a price: the girls, despite their undeniable charm, are condemned to loving solitude. the relationships of the two are opposite: sally does everything she can to build a normal existence, gillian accepts her powers and makes a massacre of hearts as long as she runs into jimmy, a rather violent vagabond individual. because of him, policeman gary hallett knocks owens home. for sally it is love at first sight, but dark forces are lurking.
