stolen four hundred thousand dollars, marion crane stops at the bates motel, run by norman bates, a strange and kind young man, with a very authoritarian mother of whom, however, only the voice is heard. after stabbing marion in the shower, norman gets rid of the corpse, but manages to take out even a detective who investigates the case before he discovers his psychopathology.
