showtime (2002)

troy is an aspiring actor who is a policeman waiting for someone to find out so he can abandon his badge. mitch is instead a policeman who believes in his work and takes it very seriously. the two inevitably collide when troy sends a stakeout to which mitch has been working for some time, and mitch, annoyed by an over-zealous television crew, shoots at a camera and shatters it. instead of suing him, the cynical television station decides to use that hard to make him the hero of yet another 'reality show' about policemen. but too much seriousness of mitch needs a shoulder that lightens situations and for that role trey is chosen.
