the body snatcher (1945)

edinburgh 1830. the worthy dr. mcfarlane is a luminary of medical science. for his own anatomy studies he needs an adequate number of bodies to dissect and, given that the law does not provide him with sufficient corpses, he is helped illegally by the coach john gray. one day the doctor finds himself having to face the case of a paralytic girl and, in order to be able to operate, he must absolutely dissect some corpses. not finding suitable bodies, john gray resorts to the murder of a wandering singer. following this criminal action, the driver begins to blackmail dr. mcfarlane who, during a violent argument, kills him and then goes mad with remorse.
