the chapman report (1962)

for his inquiry into the sexual behavior of american women, dr. chapman settles in a small town. he is particularly affected by the cases of four of the women who agree to be interviewed. sarah has left her husband and children for fred; discovered that for him it's just an adventure, deeply changed back in the family. teresa betrayed her husband for a sexual attraction. the widow kathleen thinks she is frigid, but falls in love with paul, chapman's assistant, and goes beyond her complex. naomi is instead obsessed with sex and, after a disappointment, decides to kill herself with barbiturates. chapman's conclusion is that these are borderline cases.
