the glass mountain (1949)

an english musician, an aviator during the war, crashes with his plane on mount cristallo. treated by a doctor, he falls in love with his daughter. back home he composed a work inspired by a story told to him by the girl during his forced stay in italy. in venice, where the work is successfully represented at the fenice, the musician learns that the plane on which his wife traveled fell on mount cristallo. he leaves to save her and succeeds.
