The Godfather (1972)

don vito corleone, the godfather, celebrates the marriage of his daughter connie with carlo rizzi. on his wedding day he receives the homage of all the members of his 'family' and continues to manage his business and weave his own vendettas. a war breaks out with a rival family, in which even don vito risks being killed. the younger son, michael, educated in college and a stranger to his father's trade, decides to take revenge and eliminates two rivals. to protect his girlfriend kay from retaliation, he sends her to boston, then takes refuge in sicily where he falls in love with apollonia. the bride, but soon after the woman dies in an attack. michael returns to america, where he receives his investiture from his father. don vito dies and michael becomes the new godfather.
