steven is a famous cardiothoracic surgeon. together with his wife anna and their two children, kim and bob, he lives a happy and rewarding life. one day he makes friends with martin, a solitary sixteen year old who has recently lost his father and decides to take him under his wing. when the boy is introduced to the family all of a sudden, increasingly disturbing events begin to occur which gradually disturb their happy world and force steven to make a shocking sacrifice so as not to run the risk of losing everything.
