the man in the iron mask (1998)

on the death of the good king louis xiii the throne of france passes to the young son louis iv. right from the start the new sovereign demonstrates his arrogance by dissolving the legendary musketeers' body. only d'artagnan still remains in the service of the sovereign while athos, aramis and porthos must take different paths. one day they learn that a mysterious individual has been imprisoned in the bastille for more than ten years, forced to wear a terrible iron mask that conceals their identity. the musketeers decide to verify the rumors that they want him the twin brother of the king and unjustly ousted from the throne. this will be an opportunity to return to fighting together.
