left by her boyfriend, the forty-year-old abbie takes refuge from her best friend robert, a gay gardener on duty in a sumptuous hollywood villa. one evening, after a few cocktails and a few too many dances, the two find themselves in bed together. abbie, pregnant, decides to keep her son. robert, at sam's birth, reveals himself to be a caring father. everything's fine as long as ben enters her life, with serious marriage intentions: the rest, in court.
