the pledge (2001)

the day before he retired, policeman jerry black swears on a crucifix, to the mother of a murdered child, who will find his murderer. his mission becomes, more than a case to be resolved, an obsession of justice that threatens to ruin even his own existence, after having established a relationship with a woman who has a daughter of the same age as the victim.
