the young chikako keeps her brother ryoichi at school, prostituting herself during the hours left free by her typing employer. harue, ryoichi's girlfriend, reveals to the young man the suspicions that the police brother, kinoshita, has against chikako's illicit activity. ryoichi, shocked, attacks and slaps his sister, refusing to listen to his reasons. the next day the young man does not return home. worried, chikako visits harue, which however has no news of ryoichi. as the two women confide in their worries, a phone call from kinoshita arrives, announcing ryoichi's suicide. in chikako and harue, all that remains is to watch over ryoichi's body and answer the questions of two cynical black reporters.
