An Adventure of Salvator Rosa (1939)

in the kingdom of naples the spanish oppression is becoming more and more bloody after the popular revolt led by masaniello. the most esteemed painter is salvator rosa and it is believed by them a friend of theirs. instead they don't know that the painter, with the name of 'the formica', is a notorious popular avenger of abuse and wrongs to the detriment of poor defenseless people. with his truly admirable actions, the ant succeeds in saving numerous peasants from the gallows without the spaniards being able to catch them.
