velvet goldmine (1998)

1984: arthur, a british journalist working in new york, has to write an article about the rise and fall of brian slade, an idol of glam rock in the early seventies, abandoned by the public after staging his assassination. the investigation takes shape around slade's two sentimental and artistic associations: the one with his wife mandy and the one with curt wilde, another revolutionary rock star and brian's great homosexual love. eventually the journalist will be able to track down both curt and brian, who mysteriously disappeared into thin air after the short golden season.
